Grandparents Day
How much do you know about Grandparents Day?
Date: Always the 1st Sunday after Labor day (This year its 09-09-18)
Started: President Carter sign the proclamation in 1978
What is Grandparents Day? It is a day to honor grandparents. In the proclamation signed by President Carter it states: Grandparents are our continuing tie to the
near-past, to the events and beliefs and experiences that so strongly
affect our lives and the world around us. Whether they are our own or
surrogate grandparents who fill some of the gaps in our mobile society,
our senior generation also provides our society a link to our national
heritage and traditions.
You can read the full proclamation here.
So please remember all those amazing grandparents out there and do something fun to show them how much they mean to us!
