Christmas at the office

Tuesday, December 11, 2018 No comments

I decided this year that our office needed to have more Christmas spirit! In years past we have not decorated at all. I am the only female at my company, so this makes things a problem. I am not saying that men don't know how to decorate. I am just saying that it is not a priority for them. I wanted this to change this year.

We decorated the office in fun red and white garland. Small Christmas tree in the window. Larger tree in the break room. Now because I was on a small budget, I made most of the ornaments and decorations on the computer. Here are how things turned out.

To add to the decorations, we decided that a fire place was needed. So, we built one out of cardboard and printed off brick wallpaper. To top it all off we added some snow and a chimney! It turned out amazing!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Christmas In Heaven

Tuesday, December 4, 2018 No comments

Every year my husband and I try and think of something special to give to our parents for Christmas. This is a hard task because we both lost one of our parents. I lost my mother and my husband lost his father.

I try and make each year special and celebrate our loved ones who are no longer with us. Last year I made this wooden sign that could be hung in the kitchen or dining room for the holidays.

This year I will be doing a memorial candle (kids will be making the candle). Pictures coming soon!!!

12 Days of Christmas

Monday, December 3, 2018 No comments

This year I am doing the 12 days of Christmas for our nieces that live in another state. I thought this would be something fun that they could open every day. Plus, it could help mom and dad with behavior. If you aren't good, you can't open today's present (they are always good though)!! I hope they have as much fun opening them as I did making it!

Starting on December 13th through December 24th

On the 1st day of Christmas - It's the first day of Christmas so here is something for your tree with love from your Iowa Family

On the 2nd day of Christmas - Start decking the halls with boughs of holly - we hope that this treat keeps you jolly!

On the 3rd day of Christmas the air was losing all of its heat. So, we thought you could use these fuzzy socks to warm your little feet!

On the 4th day of Christmas  - We wish you a Merry Kiss Mas & a Chappy New Year

On the 5th day of Christmas - here is something sweet - there is nothing like a little chocolate to make your day complete

On the 6th day of Christmas We are having so much fun! So, here is a game to play! We hope its lots of fun for everyone!

On the 7th day of Christmas - May your heart be warm, and your cheeks be rosy, may your arms be full of love and your hand be cozy! Here are some gloves to help keep those hands warm!

On the 8th day of Christmas - We are wishing you days that are merry and bright....We wish that your nights are merry also and thought this little flash light would help keep your nights bright as well!

On the 9th day of Christmas - Merry Christmas to all and to all a movie night!! You can't have a movie night without a Christmas movie & popcorn with M&M's!!!

On the 10th day of Christmas - There is only a few days left but it still feels so far - we thought that it would help if you had a little candy bar!

On the 11th day of Christmas - It's time to relax from being busy and on the run! We thought these bath bombs would help make bath time a little more fun!

On the 12th day of Christmas - Santa is on his way! Leave this on the lawn for this reindeer to have a snack before Santa gets back into his sleigh!

Our twist on Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 29, 2018 No comments

It has almost been a week since Thanksgiving and I have been trying to recoup from that and Christmas shopping!

As always, our Thanksgiving was a hit! We had so much food and everyone that was able to come had so much fun! This was one of our best Thanksgivings yet!  We are so lucky to have such an amazing group of friends (who are family) and family every year!

So, this year we wanted to do something nontraditional for Thanksgiving. We decided to make a turporkin! Yes, that is a turkey, with pork and chicken!! I have to admit I was so nervous when making this and cooking this. It turned out to be the best turkey I have ever had!! The gravy was also amazing! All the flavors and it was so juicy!

We had to de-bone the 20lb turkey. Then we started stuffing and layering! First layer was stuffing so the shape of the turkey would start to come back. Then it was layers of bacon (pork) and chicken! Tur(key)Pork(Chick)en!

We had a lot of meat leftover. I decided to make Thanksgiving leftover rolls. This was a lot more challenging then I thought it would be. In the end they were delicious and we even had some leftover cranberry sauce from my bacon wrapped stuffing balls to dip them in!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Now on to Christmas stuff!!!

Veterans Day vs Memorial Day

Friday, November 9, 2018 No comments

With Veterans Day coming up I wanted to express the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day!

Veterans Day is a day to thank all of our living active and retired service members. Veterans Day actually started in 1926 as Armistice Day. This was to honor all WW1 veterans. It wasn't until WW2 in 1954 that it was changed to Veterans day to honor all veterans in all wars!

I can't thank all of my family and extended military family enough for everything they do.

Memorial Day is a day to remember and honor those men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Memorial Day actually originated after the Civil War in 1865 and became an official holiday in 1971.

Both of these days are dear to my heart! I have active family members; retired family members and my mother was killed in Iraq in 2007.

So please make sure that this Sunday November 11th 2018, (Observed on November 12th) you thank all of our active and retired service members!

Good bye Halloween....Hello Thanksgiving!

Wednesday, November 7, 2018 No comments

I can't believe that October is already over! Now that all of the Halloween stuff is put back up until next year we can start to focus more on the BIG TURKEY DAY! Pumpkins are out, New tablecloths, and hand towels. We also have to make sure our turkey is front and center in the yard!

I try so hard in the month of November for our house to reflect things that they are thankful for. The past few years I have made a board everyone could write on. There was an I am thankful for jar. This year I thought it would be fun to write on white pumpkins! I am going to purchase artificial pumpkins, so we are able use them as a centerpiece every year!

My list is made for our Thanksgiving dinner. Now the timeline for when I will need to start prepping food and setting up! Each year it feels like our dinner grows larger and larger! This makes me so so happy because I love hosting for allot of people! As it has grown larger, we have had to move out of our small kitchen and into the garage! Thank goodness it is a finished garage that holds heat very well!

I know there are families out there that do not like TV in the dining room. Our family is not this way. All of the men (and some women) want the game on for Thanksgiving. The volume is muted though while we are eating! The T.V. is also in the corner of the garage so it is not in the way.

Last year we added these cute lights to our dinner. It made dinner so nice and calm!

Decorations for the dining area are a huge thing for me. Especially since we have grown so much and had to move into the garage! We purchase this plastic tablecloth roll to hide our garage walls!  This year I am hoping to make things just a little fancier!

I have been looking up allot of ideas on Pinterst and think that I have finally found what I can put my own twist on for decorations! Follow me on Facebook for more updates!

Happy Halloween!

Monday, October 29, 2018 No comments

Beggars night is one of my favorite nights! You get to see so many adorable, creepy, and funny costumes! Every year there is something new! This year I have a feeling that I will be seeing a lot of Fortnight costumes. That is what our 10-year-old wants to be this year.

As beggar's night gets closer and closer the question always arises. What age are you too old to trick or treat? There are people out there that get so upset when older kids are out getting candy on beggars' night. My opinion is let them! Why is it a bad thing that older kids are going door to door all dressed up and having fun? Why wouldn't we support this? Would you rather them out on the town causing problems? Getting into trouble? Partying? I mean come on this is about as innocent as it gets!

When older kids come to the door I am happy that they are having fun. I may be stricter on telling jokes. The younger kids if they don't have a joke then they still get candy. The older kids they better have jokes!

Let our kids have some fun this year! Parents its time for you to have fun also! Get dressed up when you are handing out candy and just have fun! Life makes things so busy and it is hard to have fun! This is the perfect day to just let go and enjoy the 3 hours of fun!!!

Prep for Thanksgiving dinner

It doesn't matter if you are hosting your 1st Thanksgiving dinner or your 20th Thanksgiving dinner you will still want to make sure that you have everything planned out!

Like everything else I have a check list. This has helped me the past 4 years we have hosted Thanksgiving at our house. The first year I was a complete mess because usually we always go to someone else house and decided it would be so nice to have a big family dinner at our house. Little did I know what I was getting myself into.

So, the second year I made sure that I had everything planned out. For the past 3 years it has been wonderful! I have never been happier and am so thankful we have such a large turnout of family and friends!

Here is what my Thanksgiving Dinner list looks like. I keep this in my planner. This way I have it when someone messages me and tells me what they are bringing. It also helps so you will not have 5 pumpkin pies and no pecan pies!

I will start prepping all of this the end of October first of November. I think it is easier to plan early then scramble at the last minute! You can find more recipe & fun Thanksgiving ideas on my Pinterest page! Happy Holidays!

Christmas Shopping Organization

Wednesday, October 17, 2018 No comments

The trees have just started turning and all I can think about is how much time is left before Christmas! It's crazy but, as parents we have to start planning early. If you do this then it seems like it is easier on your bank account and your sanity!

I like to start early in the season for all of our extended family. We don't get a list from them so when I see something that I think would be perfect then I buy it. This may be an impulse pulse purchase, but it has worked for me so far! This also works for stocking stuffers! When you see some fun little trinkets in the store or online that are cheap don't pass them up! Those are going to save your ass when you are trying to wrap presents, bake cookies and do everything else this holiday season!

Here is my schedule that I try my hardest to stick with!

End of October -

1. Make list of names of people you need to shop for - Family, friends, and if you have any annual parties you attend.

2. Keep your eye out for clearance stocking stuffers - summer stuff is on sale and will be marked down pretty low by this time.

3. Budget - get your budget in order so you have an idea of how much you need to save. This will help when you start shopping in the next couple weeks!

4. Make a list of gift cards for those hard to shop for people!!

November -

Now is the time to start your shopping. Leave the big items you know will be on sale for Black Friday on your list but, start getting those other items checked off! This will also help your budget, so you are not spending a ton of money all at once!

Black Friday! Start planning your Black Friday shopping list and you game plan for the day! This is important, so you can take part in as many deals as possible!

This is also the time I will start getting family who is out of state and we will not be able to see checked off my list. We have 2 nieces that live in Minnesota and I like to make them a Christmas Eve box. I will explain more about these boxes in my DIY Christmas post!

You all know how much I love lists! I also have a list for all of my D.I.Y gifts also! This helps me stay on track both in the store and at home!

December -

Crunch time! Starting in December you are now like the jolly fat man himself! Get that list out and start checking it twice! Along with gift shopping December 1st I will usually start getting my baking list started. I like to make baskets and trays for people. By getting my list done now I will have time to plan everything out!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

November menu

Tuesday, October 16, 2018 No comments

I can't believe that I am already doing a November menu! It feels like I was just getting things ready for the kids to go back to school! Since this will be the month the holidays kick off I like to keep things simple and easy, so I can focus more on my holiday list!

Here is what I have for November! Enjoy!

Monday - Monday night football means fun but easy dinners. This way you can focus on getting all the homework, and crap done before kickoff! We will be having Big Mac Sliders, Chicken & Broccoli Bake, Meatball Sandwiches, and Chicken Sliders!

Tuesday - Taco Tuesday! Everyone at our house always loves taco Tuesdays! We will be having Chicken Tacos, Burritos, Taco Bake, and Mexican Tater Tot Casserole!

Wednesday - Casserole Wednesday. I decided we need this night to be something I can throw into the oven and still get shit done. My husband has class this night, so I try and get caught up on all the housework while he is gone. On Wednesdays we will be having Sloppy Joe Casserole, Chili Mac & Cheese Casserole, Italian Sausage Rigatoni Bake & Pizza Bake!

Thursdays - Breakfast. We have breakfast on allot of our menu's because it is one of the kid's favorite meals. So, in November we will be having Egg Bake, French Toast, Biscuits and Gravy, and I hop Pancake & omelets!

Friday - Dinner and a movie night! This month I thought it would be fun to watch "Thanksgiving" movies and incorporate dinners that match the movie. You can find out more about our movie night here!

Saturday - Leftovers - I want to keep the fridge as clean as possible with Thanksgiving being this month. So, leftovers it is!!

Sunday - Football Sunday! Since football is in full swing. We have a fantasy football league that meets every other Sunday. For our off weeks we will be enjoying Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes, and DIY Calzones!

Indoor Halloween Decor

Monday, October 15, 2018 No comments

Well it's finally that time again! The weather is getting colder and all the Halloween decorations are finally coming out of the box! This is my favorite time of year! I love all the creepy scary aspects of Halloween! Decorations outside and inside and we can't forget the costumes!! Here are some ideas for decorating your house this year! You can also find more ideas on my pinterest page!

Indoor Halloween decorations

I have said it a couple times now, but I will say it again. We go all out for Halloween! Inside the house we have everything from webs covering our paintings to talking voodoo doll heads hanging from the walls!

Kitchen Decor

*Make a colorful drink lab in the corner of your counter

*Add skulls around the kitchen ( I put ours on top of the microwave)

*Use your old wine bottles as creepy props ( I spray paint them black and purchased a color changing candle, add this to the top and let it burn. As it burns and drips down the bottle you will have a fun colorful prop!)

* Instead of changing out my fall flower arrangement I just add some black flowers and some fun Halloween arrangements to what I already have out. This not only saves on money but it is still fall so it gives the kitchen a pop of color!

* Everyone knows how much I love sugar skulls! I have 2 sugar skull table cloths that I will switch out through out the month. Plus I have a sugar skull place mat that I use as a center piece.

* We have a glass top stove that I hate. The reason I hate it is because it ALWAYS has spots on it and I tried to use the self cleaner which then made the top of the oven door yellow! So I make sure that I always have that decorated so it hides the crappy stove!

Now for the living room

* Everything must be covered in cloth webs! All of our DU pictures, and even the lamp!

* Sugar skulls placed throughout the living room

* Creepy old school radio that talks

* Voodoo head hanging right by hallway entry so if you make a loud noise she will greet you!

* Glitter skull that was made into a vase for black sparkle flowers!

*Don't forget about the front door wreath!

Bathroom decor

* Decorate your mirror. It can be really drastic like adding blood splatter or you can keep it simple by just adding some fun gold skulls!

* Change out your hand towels to match your decor

* Finally don't forget about the floor! You can add some cool Halloween rugs to complete your look!

Favorite Halloween Movies

Wednesday, October 10, 2018 No comments

This month on my menu I have added a Halloween movie and dinner night! This gives us a chance to watch some of our favorite Halloween movies and watch some new movies! Here are some of our favorite Halloween movies and some cool snack ideas you can make to match the movie!

Hocus Pocus - This is one of my favorite movies. I get upset every time is see a spoof that they are making a second one because it gets my hopes up! Here are some food ideas to match this fun movie! Sugar Cookies with candy pumpkins or candy corn on top & Popcorn in mini cauldrons

*** Fun prop idea for this movie.......light a black candle!! ***

Casper The Friendly Ghost - This is a Halloween classic! What do you eat when watching Casper? Well breakfast of course! Eggs, Bacon, pancakes & don't forget the orange juice!

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown - All my boys love Charlie Brown! You can't watch the great pumpkin without eating some pumpkin pie and lighting your own pumpkins on the door step! For props you can add some of these mini pumpkins that light up!

The Nightmare Before Christmas - This is the best movie to watch the last weekend in October! Start out the movie with some pumpkin cupcakes topped with cream cheese frosting & candy corn. Here are some Nightmare Before Christmas dinner sets that would be fun additions!! Finish the movie with some hot coco and a peppermint stick to stir it with! I found these awesome cups to put your hot coco in!

Beetlejuice - Another classic! Who can go wrong with watching Michael Keaton & Winona Ryder! Now you are probably thinking what do we eat with such an odd movie?? Start out with some Chinese takeout, then serve some shrimp cocktail right before the epic dinner scene! If you are having a dinner party you can also get the handbook and set it on your table! See which one of your guests recognizes it!

You can't celebrate Halloween without having some Ghostbusters in your life! Snack ideas for this movie Slime popcorn balls, & lots of marshmallows! There are so many yummy snacks you can make out of marshmallows! You can find ideas on my Pinterst page

More Halloween Movie & Food Ideas:

Scream - Jiffy Pop Popcorn

Cabin Fever - Lemonade

What are your favorite Halloween Movies??????????????????

Pizza Bake

Ingredients:

1 box rotini noodles

3 jars pizza sauce

2 lbs ground beef

1 lb sausage

1 lg bag shredded cheese

1 pack pepperoni

1 can mushrooms

(any other pizza toppings you choose)

Directions: I make 2 pans because the kids do not like mushrooms & onions on their pizza. So large pan for kids small pan for parents lol

#1 Brown ground beef & sausage

#2 Put in large bowl after cooking

#3 Cook Rotini Noodles

#4 Add to bowl

#5 Mix together with one jar of pizza sauce

** Pre-heat oven 350 degrees

#6 Now it's time to layer your pizza bake!

#7 1st layer - Your first layer will be of your noodle mix. Make sure to make this a thin layer so the cheese will melt evenly through your pizza bake!

#8 Now add cheese and your toppings.  I like to add the cheese first then the toppings this way the cheese will melt evenly through your first layer of meat and pasta!

#9 2nd layer -  Add the rest of your noodle mix

#10 Pour 1 jar (or less if desired) of pizza sauce over mix

#11 Finish topping with cheese and add pepperoni (or whatever topping you want)  on top!

#12 Place in oven & set timer for 25-30 min

Gold Star Mothers Weekend

Wednesday, October 3, 2018 No comments
Last weekend was Gold Star Mothers weekend. This is the weekend dedicated to mothers of fallen soldiers. The week leading up to Gold Star Mother's weekend is Gold Star Family week. This is for all the families whose soldier has made the ultimate sacrifice. My mother is one of those hero's. She was KIA January 20th, 2007. She was the first female Command Sergeants Major in the state of Iowa and the first female to be KIA from the Iowa National Guard.

On Gold Star Mothers Day (Last Sunday of September) We run a 5k to honor our soldier. The last part of the run is so emotional. You have flags on each side of you along with pictures of soldiers we have lost. I am always okay until I see her beautiful face. Then I am sobbing to the finish line.  If you want to help support this run, you can go to http://iowaremembrancerun.com/.

My mother is my biggest hero. She was also my best friend in the whole world. Not a single day went bye that we didn't talk. I can't express how much I miss her and wish she was here. She showed me how to be strong and if you put your mind to it anything is possible! January 2007 was the worst day of my life. When we got the news, I fell to my knees and just bawled. I couldn't believe that she was gone. She was only supposed to be gone for 6 months. She left in December 2007 and one month later she was gone.

I can't say she is gone forever because a soldier is never gone until they are forgotten! Remember that please A SOLDIER IS NEVER GONE UNTIL THEY ARE FORGOTTEN! I say this because as the news/ media changes to new political stories and other disasters around the world our families of fallen soldiers are being forgotten! Programs that are in place to help support our families are becoming less and less accessible. We are told that we are not at war anymore. There are still soldiers being deployed all of the time. So please keep all of our hero's in your heart every day. Thank you

Fall low carb part #1

Tuesday, September 25, 2018 No comments

I have been trying to eat low carb for a couple months now and some days are easier than others. I will have days where my normal routine is perfect, and I have no cravings for all the wonderful food that I have ate in the past. Then there are days where I feel like I could fucking kill someone for a piece of bread, or spaghetti with real noodles.

As we get closer and closer to the cool season where all you eat is those home cooked comfort foods. I wanted to talk to everyone about things that you can eat instead of all those carb filled foods. Again, this is easier for me to write then it is for me to actually do but in the end, I will know that it is worth it.

Fall and winter is when you see all of your long-distance family and friends. What a better way then losing weight to get that ultimate WOW factor when you walk in the room! I talked about low carb a couple months ago and you can find that post here. This time I want to talk about alternatives going into the holiday seasons so that you feel like you are still in control of your low carb diet yet not drooling over the food that is going to make you hangry and will later regret!

Let's start with the largest carb problem for me NOODLES. Egg noodles this time of year are my biggest weakness! They are the only thing that you can eat with homemade chicken and noodles or homemade beef and noodles! So, my alternative this year is going to be making them with almond flour instead of regular flour! Let's look at how flour alternatives will compare:

White all-purpose flour - 1 cup = 95g of carbs
Whole wheat flour - 1 cup = 74g of carbs
Almond flour - 1 cup = 10g of carbs
Coconut flour - 1/4 cup = 6g of carbs

Now if you are like me wondering why coconut flour is only 1/4 cup instead of a full cup like the others. This is because 1/4 cup of coconut flower is equivalent to 1 cup of almond flour! You will just have to add another egg or two depending on the recipe because of how absorbent it is!

If you are not making egg noodles and looking for another alternative you can substitute regular spaghetti noodles you can use Shirataki noodles! These only have 2g of carbs per serving!

Now some other alternatives that will save you this holiday season are:

White Sugar 1tsp = about 5g of carbs vs Stevia Sugar which has 1g of carbs per tsp.

1 cup of 2% milk has 12g of carbs in it while 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk has 2g of carbs.

Small changes like this will help you stay on track this holiday season! Here are some other ideas I have found on Pinterest

Homecoming Spirit Week!

Monday, September 24, 2018 No comments

Well it is homecoming week for the kids! That means its dress up week! Here is what challenge I was given to help them get ready for each day!

Monday

High School & Middle School - Marvel vs DC Superheroes ( Dress as your fav. Superhero) Our oldest wanted to go as Robin from Teen Titans You can find his shirt here and his gloves here! Our youngest went as the green lantern! Green lantern shirt and slicked back hair! Quick and easy costume!

Tuesday

High School - Disney Day (Dress as your fav. Disney Character) Our oldest went as Darth Vader! Our youngest was unable to participate due to having a cast put on!

Wednesday

High School - Meme or Vine Day (Dress as your favorite meme or vine) This was fun. Our oldest went as Barry Bee from the Bee Movie! He knows all the funny lines! I ordered a yellow and black shirt for him, slicked his hair down and painted his face yellow! That's all!

Middle School - Pajama Day! So he just wore his favorite flannel pajama pants and his favorite shirt. We can't forget about this skull robe! Granted it didn't match but do we really match when we are going to bed?

Thursday

High School & Middle School - "ER" Day (Words ending in the ER sound) This on had me stumped...then I realized I was thinking too much into it. Our oldest went as a sorcerer and our youngest went as Darth Vader.

Friday

High School & Middle School - Spirit Day

Looking for ideas for homecoming or Halloween??? Look at the costumes I have saved here!

Halloween Party Ideas

Friday, September 21, 2018 No comments
Well it is time to start planning those Halloween Parties!

Every year we invite all of our friends over and have a fun adult dress up party! We all start the party
at our house and then go around to local bars for their parties & contests!

I love Halloween. It is my favorite time of year! All the decorating, face painting, scary creatures,
sugar skulls and fun witches! Our house is decorated inside and out starting October 1st!
You can read more about my decorations HERE!
THEME:
Every party has to have a theme! Here are some fun ideas for your next Halloween Party!!
  • Zombie Party
  • Haunted house
  • Witches & Warlocks
  • Gothic Halloween
  • New Orleans Halloween (Sugar Skull)
  • Freak Show
Not every Halloween party has to be scary. You can have fun themed parties also like:
  • Clue (Who did it) party
  • Hocus Pocus
  • Beetlejuice
  • Casper’s Dinner Party

FOOD & DRINKS:
Let's get started with food options! You can make things really creepy or you can just go traditional
w/ spooky background! One year I made the creepy gross looking food and to be honest it looked
really cool but the problem was no one wanted to eat it because it looked weird!

The kids on the other hand thought it was the coolest thing ever! Here are some creepy food ideas!
  • Red velvet cinnamon rolls made into a pan of guts
  • Red chocolate fondue or you can use the same fondue set for a red “blood” punch
  • Add dry ice to your punch bowls to make them look creepy
  • You can make any punch bowl fun by also adding glow sticks
  • Skull bowls are always fun to have salsa in if you add some meat it will look like bloody brains!
After putting all the work into making that Halloween themed food and no one eating it
I decided to make traditional finger food and just decorate around it.... make everything around it
spooky and fun! This was a lot better outcome! Here are some fun ideas for snack food!

  • Chips and dip - If you want to get creative with this you can get multi colored chips and then
for the dip you can make 3 different kinds of cheese dip in these awesome slow cooker buffet!
Add some fun decor around the crockpot and chip bowl and you are all set!
  • Save your wine bottles throughout the year and you can purchase fun Halloween stickers go
labels! Then add your own mix in them for your guests!
  • Meatballs/Little smokies! These are always a hit at any party. The best barbecue sauce that
I have found is Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce and when you mix a little grape jelly in it then you
will have an amazing flavor everyone will love!
  • You can also find a lot of fun ideas on my Pinterest board

Here are some treat ideas for the younger kids or if you were signed up to do one of those
 fun Halloween parties for school!

DECORATIONS:
Now for decorations. I am just going to briefly touch on decorations because most of them you can
find in my Halloween decor blog! There you will find allot more detail on how I decorate for Halloween.
Now allot of people just decorate for their party. Our house on the other hand starts October 1st and
doesn't end until November 1st! Here are some extra props that we do add for the party!
  • Mad scientist drink lab
  • Use your Amazon Alexa, or Google home devices to play haunted house sounds all around your
    house
  • Lighting is a must! Switch out those white bulbs for some fun black lights!
  • Don’t forget to decorate your bathroom, blood on the mirror, Michael Myers in the bathtub things
     like that!
  • Kitchen is the best place to have falling spiders and props that will pop out or make noise
     when people come in!

COSTUMES:
I am not sure if my favorite thing is to decorate the house….or costume design! So as the hostess/host
you will want to dress for your theme. Make sure that you put your theme on the invitations and if you are
going to have a costume competition make sure you let your guests know!
